  1. Run the tag end through the hook eye and be sure to leave roughly 6 to 12 inches of line.
  2. By the hook eye leave a gap and make about 5 turns around the standing line.
  3. Take the tagged end back through the loop near the front of the ring eye. 
  4. Now take the tagged end back through the second loop which you just made.
  5. Place a good grip on the tagged end and pull the line. You will see that the knot will start to seat itself.

Uni Knot / Duncan Loop Knot

The Palomar Knot is a really strong knot and quite simple to tie.

  5. The hook should be inside the knot and not above it.

Turle Knot


How To Tie A Turle Knot For Fishing

The Turle Knot is a knot best for tying a fly or hook to a leader line. Some mistake it for a turtle knot. These knots are most widely used amongst fly fishermen.

  1. Take your line and run it through the bottom of the eye.
  2. Place the hook to the side.
  3. Take about 6 to 12 inches of line.

  4. Create a loop and hold onto it while you take the tag end and wrap it around your finger.
  5. Keep it tight but loose enough to be able to stick the tag end through the wraps on your finger while still holding on to the loop.
  6. Once you slide the tag end through the wrapped line hold on to the end with your middle finger and pull on the first loop while holding on to both ends of the line.

  7. Hang on to the knot slide the loose end of the line out making it big enough so that your hook can come back through it.
  8. Bring you hook back up the line and while hanging on to the knot. Bring the hook back through the loop.

    2. Give yourself excess line to work with and create a loop
    3. Place and hold the loop near the hook
    4. Starting at the top of the eye take your lead line and start wrapping both the loop and hook

How To Tie A Rapala Loop Knot

The rapala loop knot will allow your lure to maintain it’s natural action. This is an open loop knot which will allow your lure to wiggle and move freely

  1. Tie an overhand knot on your main line
  2. Be sure to leave enough extra line to complete the knot
  3. Do not close the loop on your overhand not.
  4. Slip the tag end of your line through your lure
  5. Now take the tag line and slide it through your overhand knot
  6. Bring the eye of the knot close to the eye of the lure but leave space
  7. Now take your tag end of line again and wrap it about 3 to 4 times around the main line.
  8. Now take the tag end and slip it through the overhand knot
  9. Again take the tag end and slide it through the other loop that was just created
  10. Pull on all the ends to seat the knot
